Forming a partnership

As a member of the United Rentals Group Franchise, Northway was introduced to Prohire after looking for a system that would put their customers first, be simple and efficient to use and benefit their company. The Northway team found Prohire easy to use, particularly due to the support of the Prohire team.

For Richard Williams, Director of Northway Vehicle Sales, “The whole team at Prohire made the onboarding process simple, we were guided through every stage of the process, and nothing was too much trouble which reinforced our decision to use Prohire.”

Before implementing Prohire, the team at Northway struggled with the efficiency of their handover process, restricted to a paper-based system.

Richard adds that the team at Northway had also encountered other problems. “We find that managing vehicle damage is the most challenging part of spot rental, when there is any room for ambiguity it becomes difficult for staff to manage and have what can sometimes be challenging conversations with customers about damage liability and repair costs.”

Prohire Companion provided the solution. This mobile app allows customers to streamline vehicle check-outs and check-ins and provides digital rental agreements. Its integration with Prohire Tracker enables real-time vehicle tracking and efficient deliveries and collections. Crucially Prohire Companion also allows for damage management, documenting vehicle damage, avoiding disputes and preserving profits. Prohire Companion is an efficient solution to vehicle rentals.

Richard believes that with “The Companion App in particular, almost all of that potential ambiguity is removed if managed properly by us and our colleagues. Clear and detailed damage can be recorded on vehicles and photographs sent straight to customer’s inboxes, providing peace of mind to both parties.” 

Increased efficiency

Since using Prohire software, Richard believes that Northway has increased the efficiency of their rentals. “Prohire links directly into our accounting software, which has streamlined our accounting process. Prohire allows us to work remotely and hand over vehicles effectively off-site. The system has enhanced the customer journey.”

Overall, Richard believes Northway has greatly benefitted from implementing Prohire software. “We have redesigned our rental process based on the systems that Prohire now gives us, the way the customer interacts with the companion system promotes understanding and transforms the customer journey with Northway.”
